Description
Now in its 16th year, the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival invites you to explore the more than 200 feature films, documentaries, shorts and music videos that will screen in downtown Los Angeles from June 17-27. The 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival celebrates independent and international filmmaking, presenting such films as The Kids Are All Right, Waiting for Superman and the North American premiere of Revolución. The qualifying festival for Film Independent's Spirit Awards, Los Angeles Film Festival screens hundreds of feature-length narratives, documentaries, music videos, and shorts from dozens of countries — in addition to hosting premieres, panels, seminars, live music, and free screenings. The film fest features works by up-and-coming filmmakers as well as classics and rare gems; 2010 highlights include Big in Japan: A Selection of Japanese Music Videos and the Australian crime drama Animal Kingdom, as well as classics such as The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984) and Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), in a program festival organizers describe as "a bridge between independent and mainstream cinema." - Tanja M.
