BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The Rodeo Drive Committee has announced that nearly fifty-five of the street’s retailers will participate in Fashion’s Night Out on Friday, September 10, 2010. Rodeo Drive will lead West Coast efforts, as part of the global shopping event, and will erect the first-ever Ferris Wheel on the street. The festive atmosphere will also include in-store events, cocktail parties and extended shopping hours for all guests.
“We hope to produce a fantastic block-party atmosphere on the street,” said Rodeo Drive Committee President Tom Blumenthal. “Just as Rodeo Drive is know for offering an unparalleled shopping experience on a daily basis, Fashion’s Night Out is an exciting opportunity to create a memorable, one-of-a-kind event for our clients.”
The centerpiece of Rodeo Drive’s celebration of Fashion’s Night Out is a Ferris Wheel that will be placed on the 200 block of Rodeo Drive. When guests show their receipts from purchases on Rodeo Drive that evening, they will receive a complimentary ride for two on the Ferris Wheel. In addition to the carnival ride, guests will also be able to enjoy numerous in-store events taking place at merchants up and down the street. Chanel, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino and more than 40 other Rodeo Drive merchants are scheduled to participate in Fashion’s Night Out.
The making of Fashion’s Night Out 2010 will be the subject of a one-hour prime-time special for CBS Television Network on Wednesday, September 15 (8:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m., ET/PT). Cameras will follow celebrities, designers, editors and retailers as they prepare for the event.
