The 2nd Annual Cinco De Mayo Fiesta at L.A. LIVE will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 5:30 PM-9:00 PM in Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE. This FREE Fiesta is open to fans of all ages. The festivities will be emcee’d by 15 year-old vocalist and 2010 “Miss Quinceanera”, Genesis Codina and Gil Sperry, Official Good Will Ambassador for Rosarito Beach and author of “Mariachi for Gringos I & II”.
L.A. LIVE’s first ever Battle of the Mariachi Bands will headline the 2nd Annual Cinco De Mayo Fiesta! Six pre-selected mariachi bands will compete to be crowned the winner of the Mariachi Battle! The six bands are competing for cash prizes of $1,500 for first place, $750 for second place and $375 for third place. The six participating mariachis are Mariachi Orgullo de San Diego, Mariachi Puno de Oro, Mariachi Tesoro de San Fernando, Mariachi Nueva Generacion, Mariachi Los Toros and Mariachi Voz de America. Mexican cuisine provided by Wolfgang Puck Catering will be available for purchase, along with a beer & margarita garden station in Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE.
