LA Confidential Presents Shine On Sierra Leone 5th Annual Fundraiser Hosted by Selita Ebanks, Bill Maher and Serena Williams

Krug and Bodega Numanthia invite guests to join hosts Selita Ebanks, Bill Maher and Serna Williams for an intimate and inspiring evening filled with the delicious flavors and traditions of Africa. Guests will take their seats on the floor of a classic Moroccan lounge and embark upon a unique opportunity for private dining and poignant discussion with Bill Maher, Selita Ebanks, and a collective of powerful hearts and minds. About Shine On Sierra Leone: In 2011, US-based nonprofit organization Shine on Sierra Leone (SOSL) celebrates 5 years of working for a change in Sierra Leone. SOSL is committed to working alongside Sierra Leoneans as they rebuild their life. In partnership with the local community, Shine On develops sustainable programs in education, micro-loans, computer literacy, adult literacy, sustainable building, eco-tourism and agriculture. May 25th 2011 marks the launch of the pivotal maternal and neonatal health project. The program will both honor local traditions and provide access to safe medical care in an effort to promote healthy mothers and babies. This momentous celebration will span the continental US and kick off 30 days of fundraising. These events will raise funds to support SOSL and a remarkable team of midwives, doctors, and community health workers in the establishment and operation of the maternal and neonatal healthcare initiative in Sierra Leone- ultimately saving the lives of hundreds of mothers and babies of Sierra Leone.
