Now in its fifth year, the annual unrestrained titty brigade once again took to Venice Boardwalk yesterday for Go Topless Day. Amid the daily beachside freakshow, bare-breasted participants marched down the path, tatas a-bouncin', wielding signs in support of their meaningful cause which is of course to fight the double standard of topless laws for men and women. I, for one, would counter that we have a bigger issue on our hands, and that is we have yet to pass any kind of legislation on exposed man-boobs in public. More»

As L.A. residents, our relationship with the Bay Area and those who call it home has always been complicated. It's a heady brew of rivalry, occasional collaborative success, and, dare I say, a sprinkling of legit jealousy that runs both ways: us for their functioning transportation system, and them for our largely feces-free streets and sidewalks. We'd be lying, however, if we didn't confess that our jealousy of the San Francisco area has never been higher than it was this weekend, as the Outside Lands music festival celebrated its fifth anniversary with a weekend-long party that, by all accounts, may have surpassed even our beloved Coachella as 2012's festival to beat. Yesterday kind of felt like the nicest day of the year if this were Daytona, Florida. That is to say, it was horrible, muggy and weird, like merciless hot breath enveloping your person within minutes of stepping outside. But bizarre weather conditions did make for a truly magnificent evening sky which, if you didn't witness yourself, were made well aware of due to the widespread feed-clogging about the sunset that was occurring across all social media platforms. Summer means so many wonderful things, from the longer warm days, plentiful BBQs, and tans, to the influx of potential unpaid day laborers (AKA interns). It also means we can rage comfortably all day long on the roof of The Standard Downtown, which is exactly what we did Saturday at a very special edition of dubFrequency's No Shirt/ No Shoes pool party aimed at uniting the party scenes from L.A.'s ever-separate east and west sides. A beautiful summer day, it seems, can solve even the fiercest rivalries. More»

Last night's solar eclipse did not disappoint its L.A. audience with passing clouds and haze over many L.A. skies during the spectacle that made for ideal viewing conditions of the natural phenomenon. Luckily, I happened to be on a rooftop in Venice at the perfect time when it was happening and it was quite as show from our perspective. Photos hardly do the imagery from last night's "Ring Of Fire" justice, but they're still pretty cool, so here's a collection of what the annual event looked like through the lenses of onlookers in and around the L.A. area.
