After all the speculation, teasing games and false alarms (thank you, @IGGNASTYY) over the last few days as we all waited with baited breath, the official lineup for Coachella 2011 has been released! And we were prettttyyyyy, prettyyyyyy, prettyyyyyy, pretty close with our predictions. Now let's breakdown the official Coachella performers and take a look at which acts we guessed right and the ones we missed.

THE HEADLINERS
Instead of three headliners, one per day, Coachella got fancy on us and decided to double down Sunday with Kanye AND The Strokes. In a perfect world, Kanye having to share his top billing with another act would serve as a much needed chip at his ego, but we're not getting our hopes up as he is so far gone up his own ass. But that's neither here nor there. The point is, our predictions on both Kanye and The Strokes were right, except we didn't bill the Strokes as a top headliner for a day.
Moving on, we were on the money with Arcade Fire for Saturday, which is officially billed as "Arcade Fire" sans the definite article which we regrettably included on our flyer, so everyone stop calling them "The Arcade Fire".
Finally, we were off on Friday which will be headlined by Kings of Leon instead of our prediction of The White Stripes. I'd like to point out that this might be the singular instance in which being wrong doesn't hurt for me as much as what we were wrong about... Kings of Leon? Mehh. The White Stripes would have been awesome.
And guess who's NOWHERE on the lineup this year? Daft Punk AND The Rolling Stones. [See "About That Daft Punk And Rolling Stones Coachella 2011 Buzz..." in which we respond to the boardies insisting both acts were confirmed] OH SNAP. If our flyer had been a wishlist, however, both would have gotten placement just below DAVID BOWIE.

The fact of the matter is the music industry is dead. Sales, even for the top 40 crap which is shoved down our throat with constant airplay, is virtually nil. The music industry knows that the only profits left are in live performance and merchandising. In a cynical attempt to grab some of that dough they have foisted their talentless garbage upon the indie music fan, hence the likes of Jay Z and Kanye at Bonnaroo and Coachella, where these prancing talentless clowns muck up the proceedings. My suggestion; BOO THEM OFF THE STAGE!
