Why We Care About Her: For months, the alt kids wouldn't stop talking about this character despite the fact that she hadn't even released an album. For someone with so little to show for themselves as a musician, she was the topic of, or at least mentioned in, an inordinate number of conversations that left the rest of us asking a resounding, "But who the fuck is Lana Del Rey?"
Before we could get an answer, backlash from all the hype set into motion with bloggers reacting across the interwebs and choosing sides, either for or against this polarizing force. And through all of this we were still left asking, "No, wait, seriously, who the fuck is Lana Del Rey?" We'd soon find our answer via YouTube and friends who were on Team Lana insisting we listen to her singles in the car.

Ugh, I can't help it. Im bored to death. It's like "daddy, buy me a hit record" oh "and I'm cross eyed!" Okay, she probably didn't say the second part, but hasn't anyone noticed???? The droning songs, the overplayed video; yawn, yawn yawn... I hope Lana Del Rey, marries a nice investment banker and moves to, oh, I don't know, somewhere like Marina Del Rey where she can blend in with all the soccer moms, which is exactly what she was raised to be.
