On Friday, people all over the world celebrated the start of the 2012 Olympics in their own respective ways. Here in Los Angeles for an exclusive group of young, stylish folks, it was with a tasting of gourmet food and specialty cocktails at an intimate gathering at Wolfgang Puck's WP24 Restaurant and Lounge.

Friday evening, Jae Joseph hosted a select group of tastemakers including Taye Hansberry, Robyn Boddie, Andres Matsen and Lisa Byrnes at WP24 by Wolfgang Puck at the Ritz-Carlton near L.A. Live at his Olympic Games Celebration Tasting event.

In anticipation of the 2012 summer games, guests were invited to the top of the downtown L.A. hotel to enjoy its sweeping views of the city skyline, a special Olympics-themed cocktail, and small plates from the restaurant's new "Four for $24" menu.

As you may have ascertained, the "Four for $24" menu available daily from 5pm to 7pm at WP24 offers four of Chef De Cuisine John Lechleidner's signature small plates, such as the Peking Duck Roll, Pork Belly Bao Bun, and Shrimp and Lobster Spring Roll for just $24. Paired with these tasty culinary creations was a special new "Go For Gold" cocktail to benefit the Special Olympics non-profit organization created by WP24's Beverage Director Klaus Puck which features classic English Oxley gin, rosemary from the hotel’s on-site rooftop cocktail garden, lemon and 24-Karat gold flakes in the spirit of the Olympics.
