[All photos by Rony Alwin] We couldn't wrap up our Grammy party coverage without mentioning one of our favorites, the AllSaints Pre-Grammy event at Hemingway's on Saturday night. The party featured a live performance, DJ sets by Grammy artists, a surprise engagement celebration for one of this year's Grammy winners, and rock star-filled crowd of hip Angelenos. Come see what went down inside what was easily the hottest indie rock Grammy event of the weekend.
As part of the jam-packed lineup of Grammy events, British fashion brand AllSaints co-hosted the pre-award show party with Grammy winner Patrick Carney of the Black Keys and nominee Devendra Banhart who each took their discerning ear to the turntables for Grammy artist-approved DJ sets. Hemingway's was swarming with rock stars and groupies, more so than the a typical night, plus lots of familiar Los Angelites of the gutter-chic variety. Among guests in attendance were Jared Followill and Nathan Followill of Kings of Leon, Dangermouse, Rodrigo Amarante, Ivanka Trump, Jennifer Missoni, Julian Perretta, Nick Jago, Tim Burgess, Posso the DJ, Soko, Zelda Williams, Eric Balfour, Sebastian Stan, and Annakim Petty.
Aside from the Grammy honors, the night was also a celebration of romance; before up-and-coming indie band IO Echo took the stage to perform, the crowd congratulated Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, who had proposed to Emily Ward just before the party, on the couple's engagement. Swoooooon.
