Been seeing those billboards of an sheepish-smiling Zooey Deschanel around town? They're for her latest gig as the starring role in FOX's "New Girl" which had a private screening celebration at the Roosevelt last week before everyone skipped town to hit the holiday weekend festivities.

On Thursday, FOX invited a select group of guests out for a special sneak preview of the fall lineup's "New Girl". In the buzzed-about series, indie darling commonly referred to as the Megan Fox of the hipster set, Zooey Deschanel crosses over from the silver screen to network primetime star. The actress is joined by an ensemble cast backed by a veteran production team that makes for a promising new show about modern relationships.

In addition to the exclusive advanced screening of the show in the Roosevelt's Academy Room, the night was made complete with some cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and shmooze time. From the looks of the crowd who came out, Deschanel's winning charm seems to have translated successfully from big to small screen, so we suggest adding "New Girl" to your list of fall shows to DVR when it premieres on September 20th.
