Inside Artist Eddie Rehm's 'Rehming Out LA' Opening Reception

[Left: Eddie Rehm] The window installation of the infamous, scantily-clad Suicide Girls posing in front of Rehm’s work drew crowds to the Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts gallery like no other exhibit. The unorthodox showcase echoed the avant-garde contemporary artwork displayed inside of Rehming Out LA. Rehm’s desire to break away from “an art scene drowned out by the same old,” inspired this showcase reflecting his self-proclaimed "belligerent" societal and personal outlooks. Included are mixed media paintings created using industrial products and plastic. The fusion of all these elements create a powerful, rebellious masculinity in Rehm's work – just as he intended. Guests flowed in and out of the exhibit, rotating between the Suicide Girls' alluring display and Rehm’s intense, raw works. Rehm and gallery owner Petra Wright circled the gallery mingling with attendees and shedding light on the collection to curious guests. Between the spectacle of the Suicide Girls and the compelling works inside, last night's opening for Rehming Out LA was certainly not one to be missed. Check it out for yourself while it's on display from now through Wednesday, October 30th.  Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts gallery is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday: 12pm to 7pm and from Saturday to Sunday: 12pm to 3pm (evenings by appointment).
