Slide #1

Since opening his gallery in Santa Monica, Gabor Csupo, the five-time Emmy Award winner for his work on "Rugrats" and "The Simpsons," has never stuck to the basic formula for art events. Always taking innovative approaches to livening up gGallery's art openings, Saturday night's was no exception. In partnership with Showroom Budapest, the gallery hosted "Gold Cave 99.9," the first of many upcoming stops in major US cities presenting a fashion showcase of Budapest's top designers. As its name suggests, the gallery was transformed into a golden cave courtesy of Károly Ujfalusi and "Hungarian paper wizard" Áron Filkey with fashions by the featured designers presented as artwork within the space. Among the night's designers and brands promoting unique clothing with high artistic value known as 'wearable artwork' in the showcase of Budapest's finest were Anna Amelié, Vayaro by Kay Roy, Kata Szegedi, and Yessus by Mariann Jankovics and Sharolta Vegh. In addition to the fashionable treasures on display throughout the golden cave, guests also enjoyed a selection of fine wines, hors d'oeuvres, and a special performance by the groundbreaking classical electronic music group, Nostalghia. Keep clicking through the slideshow for a closer look at everything that went down at Showroom Budapest and gGallery's "Gold Cave 99.9."
