Pretty Lights Two full weeks before its July 2nd drop date, KCRW music director Jason Bentley hosted a Pretty Lights listening party for A Color Map of the Sun and essential companion Live Studio Sessions From A Color Map of the Sun. The special event held at the acoustically-designed Sonos Studio on La Brea also featured a Q&A with Derek Vincent Smith, the pioneer behind the electro soul hip-hop musical project known a Pretty Lights, moderated by Bentley. The highlight of the night was a very special and exclusive live performance from Pretty Lights debuting selections from the two-CD collection ahead of its release. After dancing to the live sounds of Pretty Lights underneath the light show, fans enjoyed a special screening of a new documentary chronicling the making of both Color Map CDs. If you missed this unforgettable night with Pretty Lights or just want to relive the experience, a recording of the session will air on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" show on July 2nd, so mark your calendars. Until then, keep clicking through the slideshow for an inside look at the night with Pretty Lights at Sonos Studio and visit our photo gallery for complete coverage.
