Saturday night, boldface names and L.A. tastemakers stepped out to experience another night of Tyler Shields-designed stunts and spectacles at the opening of the young photographer's newest collection, "Life Is Not a Fairytale."
Known for pushing the envelope with his provocative sex- and violence-charged imagery featuring Hollywood's hottest young talents, Shields has also made a name for himself as quite the showman who lives to surprise. Much like his previous exhibition opening last year for "Collisions", the event took place at a Downtown warehouse where guests were greeted by men dressed head-to-toe in soldier regalia wielding (fake?) assault rifles.

But unlike the last one that featured dancing naked girls in the crowd and a stunt in which Shields shot one of his guards in the chest (he was wearing a bulletproof vest) across the entire party, he decided to change things up with some new surprises for Saturday's. This time, the party boasted an army of Stormtroopers, a real life cow surrounded by a picket fence, dancing and ping pong-playing ballerinas, and an installation consisting of two water coolers, one filled with "unicorn tears" and the other filled with "vampire tears" of blood. The event also showcased Shields' first foray into painting with a piece displaying the blood, (yes, blood) of about 20 celebrities which he used as paint. Considering what we saw at his party last year, we knew we were in for some jaw-dropping stunts but Shields really outdid himself this time. Congrats to him on his new show and for raising the bar even higher on the outrageous scale.
Of his many celebrity muses and subjects, notables in attendance included Lindsay Lohan, Shane West, Zachary Quinto, Brittany Snow, Brittany Curran, Emma Roberts, Amber Rose, Shenae Grimes, RIley Keough, Michael Trevino, Brent Bolthouse, Jenna Ushkowitz, Izabella Miko, Shoshana Bush, Katelyn Statton, Ali Cobrin, Madison Bontempo, Chloe Wong, Miranda Cosgrove, Lyndsey Fonseca, Devon Sawa, Clifton Collins Jr., Tiffany Hines, Zelda Williams, Lauren Storm, Scott Patterson, Spencer Falls, and Colton Haynes.
