Other Details: The cast and crew of Garry Marshall's followup to the mega-ensemble cast rom com Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve stepped out for the film's premiere last night at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Like Valentine's, NYE is another rom com centered around an over-hyped holiday and features super-ensemble cast of big names. And just like Valentine's, you couldn't pay me to see this one either. Of note at the premiere was Lea Michele and Ashton Kutcher's overt and blatantly contrived PDA on the red carpet, with the two gazing into each other's eyes, embracing and giggling cheek to cheek as they posed for the cameras. I have no clue if there's a modicum of authenticity to this apparent romance or if this is all a big PR stunt designed to help promote the film (Kutcher and Lea Michele play a duo stuck in an elevator together on NYE). If so, bravo to whoever masterminded it since it got us to focus on this spectacle instead of the actual film, but unfortunately there's no ruse that will ever make us forget how shitty this movie is going to be.
