"SOS Island: Survival of the Smartest" Finale Event Presented By Samsung

Last night, the winner of Samsung's online competition series "SOS Island: Survival of the Smartest" was revealed at the finale event at the W Hollywood. The series combines live streaming, social media, and survival training to bring thrilling entertainment to viewers. After spending two weeks in Puerto Rico enduring challenges and documenting them online with their Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy NX camera, the final eight "SOS Island" contestants gathered around the Hollywood W's pool for the big announcement which, in spirit of the series, was revealed via Samsung GALAXY Gear. It was at the exclusive event that the UK'S Graham Hughes was the named "The Smartest" of the online series competition, and took the $100,000 grand prize. Hailing from Liverpool, the travel enthusiast spent four years visiting every country in the world and rallied thousands of votes via social media from his fans to push him to a victory. Hughes said, “This is truly a dream come true. I put everything I had into this competition with hopes that I’d go all the way.
