Swingers
There are people out there, hardcore diner aficionados, who would probably tell you that Swingers is not a real diner and that the perpetually intoxicated hipster crowds that swarm both the Hollywood and Santa Monica locations of this L.A. institution make it hard to focus on enjoying your Reuben or some stupid shit like that. We're not entirely sure why those people would even attempt to eat at Swingers in the first place. Is it loud and crowded at pretty much any hour? Sure. Do the servers display about as much concern for your well-being as Casey Anthony might? Pretty much. But then again, we're talking about a late, late spot (Hollywood is open until 4 a.m. every night, and the earliest Santa Monica ever closes is 2 a.m.) that dishes up tasty diner staples (and plenty of veggie and vegan alternatives) and good, loud music and will never ask you to tone down your behavior unless you're literally lying face down on the floor. And that's hard to criticize. Swingers 802 Broadway, Santa Monica 8020 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles [via]
