Our summer pom-pom sandals may have had more accoutrements than our grandma on Easter Sunday, and though we're wishing we could be on Capri displaying them with an off shoulder top during an endless summer rendezvous, it’s time to face up to the facts: summer is over. Fall is upon us. The worst part? Shorter days. The best, of course, is fall fashion, especially shoes.

We picked up our favorite pair from FRĒDA SALVADOR (the ever popular Roam Combat boots) a couple seasons ago and they’re ‘still the ones.’ The more we’ve learned about the brand the more there is to love. Designed in San Francisco by two irreverently cool ladies (Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo-Nelson, who we previously featured) and made in Spain with the softest, butter-iest leather EVA, these kicks are made for coveting, loving, and most of all WALKING. Papay and Palomo-Nelson, two fashion industry veterans combined fascinating backgrounds—they met as colleagues at Anyi Lu; before that Papay was a celebrity stylist at Calvin Klein and Palomo-Nelson was raised in Central America to a shoe-making family—with their unique design aesthetic to design kickass shoes you'll want to live in.

The result is classic menswear inspired boots, loafers, mules, and oxfords paired with fun details like textured ivory leather, cheeky cut outs or removable metal fringed bracelets that has garnered a cult following in SF and beyond. Forever dreamers, the two purchased a vintage 1970’s Aladdin trailer when they started their business together and this year they spruced it up and hit the road on a So-Cal road trip to meet the fans and celebrate the Fall 2016 collection. We caught up with FRĒDA SALVADOR and Diego (the trailer) in West Hollywood during a short stopover before they continued to Palm Springs. Watch below and click through to get to know FRĒDA.
