You may have missed Coachella and the free Make Music Pasadena Festival but there's still plenty of gnarly free music to take in this summer. If you're willing to make the trek to Pomona, don your finest ironic mustache and cuff your jeans before experiencing the second annual free Moon Block Party, which features local-indie-bands-nobody-has-heard-of-but-sound-great-on-YouTube on June 23rd from 12pm-3am. Seriously though, all reports from last year's festival and this year's Desert Daze (another Palm Springs area festival from the same organizers) make it sound like it'll be a rockin' good time. For more well-established yet budget-friendly summer concert series, look into these gems:

If you're looking for a cheap yet classy date night that doesn't involve Franzia and Barry White playing through your MacBook speakers then find someone you're diggin' and bring him or her to Thursday Night Jazz at the LACMA running from June 22nd to September 28th.
