Sample the wares from local farmers

No meal plan? No more care packages of Grandma's homemade mac n' cheese? Well, cooking for yourself is one of the joys of living on your own, so after you get tired of complaining about the lack of good takeout in LA, get your malnourished self to one or more of the dope local farmer's markets that offer fresh produce and an array of local and creatively inspired foods. One of the more unique examples, the Yamashiro Farmer's Market is a one-of-a-kind Thursday night event with great views at the top of the Hollywood Hills to complement all the culinary stylings. Check out this comprehensive list to see when your neighborhood has their market (and no matter where you live, they probably do), or hit up one of these notables:

Yamashiro Farmer's Market: Thursdays at 1999 N Sycamore Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90068

Santa Monica Farmer's Market: Sundays at 2640 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405

Sunset Strip Farmer's Market: Thursdays at 8755 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069
