Dry Harbour at Sunny Spot
Roy Choi's Venice/Marina del Rey area "cookshop" is all about relaxed ambiance and Caribbean influenced flavors, so it probably comes as no surprise that the cocktail and bar list is heavily rum influenced. What you might not expect, however, is just how far they've taken that concept, with a selection of rums from the Caribbean and beyond that go way beyond the standards and cocktails that include such welcome touches as homemade ginger beer for Rum Buck (rum, lime juice and ginger beer) and Dark N' Stormys. As fans of something with some kick to it, we can't get enough of the Dry Harbour, which combines the extra-strength pot still rum with lime, absinthe, and a habanero pineapple shrub with enough bite to fortify you through a meal of delectable eats like the Double-Fried Jerk Wings or the Two Fisted Cheeseburger, which is making a legit run at our sacred list of L.A.'s best burgers.
