James Cameron's Avatar Premieres In LA

by Chiara Atik · December 18, 2009

A little movie called "Avatar" premiered in Los Angeles, and apparently, it's pretty darn good.  What started out as a lukewarm response from the blogosphere, most likely prompted by the Jar Jar Binks-esque alien creatures. has come full circleAudrina Patridge, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Bill Pullman, Masi Oka, and Giovanni Ribisi were among those to first screen the James Cameron-helmed film, which cost a grillion dollars...

The movie is about a group of scientists who use Avatars to infiltrate an alien race or something (is that why Buzz Aldrin was there?), which in my mind sounds pretty terrible except the reviews have been off the hook, and anything that involves 3-d glasses is usually pretty cool for at least 10 minutes or so.

AAAAAND, speaking of pretty cool, did you notice our brand new LA category? We'll be covering more and more stuff in Los Angeles, so look for the Bright Pink header to find out the latest happenings from the West Coast.
