
While women's roller derby has existed more or less in this form for the last 70 years or so, for most of that time it was something more like pro wrestling, where the focus was on the costumes and personalities of the skaters, and the actual results were predetermined. While modern roller derby has kept some of the theatricality, there's no faking it here—these women are serious players, playing to win.
