Other Details: Last night LACMA held it's opening reception for Katy Grannan and Charlie White's new exhibit, The Sun and Other Stars, drawing a vibrant crowd with guests like David LaChapelle and Simon de Pury. The dual photographic series which is accompanied by a film project and animation aims to present the resilience of individuality in Western culture through portraiture. The project consists of raw portraits of adults along the western landscape and blonde teenage girls with an appetite for celebrity, both of which are portrayed void of sentimentality. The exhibit will run through October 14.
