"Tip the world over on its side and everything loose will land in Los Angeles."

Both the beauty and the bane of the city is summed up by the pioneer of modern American architecture in this statement. And by that, I mean L.A. attracts people from all different parts of the world, from all walks of life, with a wide and varied range of beliefs and attitudes, creating a distinct cultural landscape that makes the city beautiful and interesting. All of the different cultures, concepts, and influences this sprawling metropolis absorbs are the sources of its unmatchable greatness we are fortunate enough to experience.  But at the same time, we draw an inordinate number of assholes to pollute the cityscape, which is evidently the trade-off.
