Cage The Elephant at Mayan Theatre
The only thing you really have to know about Cage The Elephant's (few) critics is that they always seem down on the Bowling Green, Kentucky band for their "immature" or "snotty" demeanor and lyrics. Hence, you already know that if you go to their show at the Mayan on Wednesday night, you won't have to worry about standing next to the kind of buzzkilling dipshit who thinks rock music should be "mature" and "dignified." In our book, that's already a win*, but if you need more, just know that CTE has spent the last two or so years blowing up on the basis of a punchy, noisy, always fun sound that keeps its snarl mixed with enough uptempo percussive liveliness to never force you to have to sit back and think about it too hard.
