Jimmy Cliff @ The Troubadour
We praise the living daylights out of The Troubadour as one of the best live music venues in all of Southern California, and for good reason: the historic landmark and decades-old launching pad of musicians from Elton John to Mötley Crüe just breathes music history, and elevates performances from even the newest artists that get to play its famous stage. But when a truly classic artist like Jimmy Cliff, the only living musician to be knighted (the prestigious "Order Of Merit" award) in Jamaica, takes that stage, the pieces are in place for something even greater. Whether you grew up wearing out the grooves on your dad's vinyl copy of "The Harder They Come" or have yet to realize that Cliff is responsible for many of your favorite reggae classics (and trust me, you know his music even if you don't know you know it), this is one not to miss.
