Dan Deacon at The Natural History Museum
On tour for his latest album, America, Dan Deacon should feel right at home amongst the stuffed roaming bison and moose exhibits at his set in the great diorama halls of The Natural History Museum for this month's First Friday. Known for his interaction with the audience, Dan Deacon, brings his electronic compositions to life on stage. If you really want to get into the action, download the "Dan Deacon IPhone Ap" which will make your phone a synchronized futuristic glowstick that beams flashes of light which go along with certain songs. Also performing are Japanther and a DJ set by one of my faves, Kisses. [Details] [Photo via]
Dead Prez at The Terrace
Not only will you get to hear some dope beats and sick rhymes, but you may also learn something from 90s hip hop duo, Dead Prez. With lyrics that could cause a underground revolution, these New Yorkers take their anti-corporate, anti-media, and even anti-hip hop record labels social activism to the fans who will be packing The Terrace in Pasadena on Friday.
