Who Are The Most Fabulis Gay Guys In Los Angeles?

by Chiara Atik · March 24, 2010

Have you guys heard of "Fabulis"? It's a site that "connects gay men around the world", basically by ranking them based on…well, that part's confusing. But the user-generated rankings basically make it an upscale version of Hot or Not for gay men, so obviously it's going to be a huge success. So who are these most Fabulis of men?-

The website, which has undeniably been influenced by Mediaite's Power Grid, is still in beta mode, but the fact that it hasn't officially launched yet hasn't stopped the founders from setting up a Fabulis Shop, where you can spend $50 on a hoodie or $65 on underwear (why does the underwear cost more??) to prove just how Fabulis you are. Which, frankly might be a necessary step, since post of the high-ranking people on the list are relatively unknown to the general public.

In a promo video they've assembled on Youtube, the founders talk about Marc Jacobs, Tim Gunn and Neil Patrick Harris…but funnily enough, none of those gay icons make it onto the Fabulis list. Let's take a look at who does…

[Most Fabulis Gay Guys Of New York City]

    1. Bryan Singer

Bryan Singer is "our generations greatest filmmaker", though not the most grammatically correct. Because X-Men is the greatest film of our generation, didn't you know? He is also, according to Fabulis, the #1 good person gay guy in Los Angeles.

    2. Dan Leveille

Dan Leveille is the founder of equalitopia.com, a web application that will organize and analyze LGBT data. We have to admit, that's pretty fabulous, or, lis, or whatever. But it's gotta be tough to be #2 across the board; Leveille is also #2 Geek, Activist, and Entrepreneur. Which is too bad because his twitter is full of gems, like:

@Danlev This adorable androgynous lesbian on the bus keeps looking at me. And I keep looking at her. I'm intrigued.

    So are we, Dan!

    3. Chad Hunter Griffin

Chad Hunter Griffin was born Fabulis. Yawn. Extensive google research shows that he's a Public Strategist/Consultant based in Beverly Hills who raised a ton of money for Hillary Clinton (who else?) His media websites are actually pretty impressive, so we wonder if being featured on a site like "Fabulis" will help or hurt his career in politics.

    4. Dan Taberski

Dan Taberski is Fabulis because he's working his "ass off to get fabulis on TV." According to his twitter, he is a "TV producer/writer/watcher, and so so so much more." He produced The Daily Show for a long time (Fabulis!) and then a live action show on the cartoon network (not so Fabulis.) He's the #1 Hiker on the site!  PS, Dan, this picture is way cuter than the one you posted on the site.

    5. David Michael Taylor

David Michael Taylor was born fabulis...and slightly creepy, if this profile picture is to be trusted. He's an actor, activist, and great friend (though not as great a friend as Jesse Siminski, from Berlin, apparently.) And that's pretty much all we could find on this guy...obviously he likes to keep things mysterious.

    6. Savas Abadsidis

Savas claims to be fabulis because he knows some fabulis people, but the real reason is because he used to run A&F Quarterly, which, if you don't remember what that was like, go here for a little refresher. Yeah, see why he's so popular? An entire generation of males, gay and straight alike, are forever indebted to him. He also wrote a handy piece for Match.com called "Do Open Relationships Work?" (His answer: not really.) Right now, Abasidis is in the bottom half of the Top 10 Most Fabulis Men in Los Angeles, but if he changed his profile picture to one of himself as an adult (we didn't use it here), his score would probably skyrocket.

    7. Byran Safi

Omg, Bryan Safi is totally adorable! Of course he's gay. He's also a staff writer for InfoMania, was a staff writer on the Ellen Degeneres Show, as well as on College Humor. And he used to act at La Mama, so he can put New York Ac-TOR on his resume as well. He's listed on Fabulis as #2 Television Personality, second only to Julian Bennett, who we've definitely never heard of either. Bryan Safi is this straight girl's favorite person on this list, mostly because of this picture he uploaded with on his twitter.

    8. Christopher Rice

Watch out, LA! Christopher Rice is the city's #1 Heartbreaker, as this shirtless photo will no doubt attest. He's also written four novels on the New York Times Bestseller List and has yet to turn 30, which is pretty impressive, although we're not ready to call him "our generations greatest novelist" just yet. (again with the punctuation!) He also shares a name with a contemporary Christian songwriter, so that's gotta cause some great moments.

    9. Nicholas Marlin

Don't let the goofy photo with a lei fool you: Nicholas Marlin is the #1 Sexy gay man in Los Angeles. Nick describes himself as fun, well-traveled, overly educated, successful, and a former world-class gymnast. "Overly-educated"? From Chapman and CalPoly? Uh-huh. He's also the "Director of Love" at oneGoodLove, Inc, which has got to make one hell of a business card.

    10. Frank Mastronuzzi

Frank is Fabulis because he runs a dating site for the gay community. He's from Chicago, has a Masters from UT, and seems really sweet, so I hope his dating site works out for him. He's a member of the "Don't Cancel Ugly Betty" group on facebook, and we all know how that turned out, so the guy needs something good in his life.
