On Sunday on Santa Monica Beach, a young musician built awareness and raised money for his Johnny Cash tribute band, "Cash Back." With his slicked back hair, black slacks and leather boots, the Cash impersonator took to his sandy stage and challenged the curious Father's Day crowd as he labored through their favorite JC requests.
While his guitar playing was adequate and he appeared to know all the words, he sounded nothing like the distinctive baritone from Nashville. Fortunately for beach-goers not in the mood, the sound of the crashing waves served as the perfect white noise.
