5. So Ridiculous, Let's See It Four More Times?
Super Bowl V, X, XIV, XVI and XX, 1971, 1976, 1980, 1982, 1986 Performers: Up With People Up With People is the first performer on our list who not only put on one bizarre halftime experience, but was subsequently invited back to give four more bizarre halftime experiences. We're stretching back here, so a bit of history: for the first ten Super Bowls or so, the halftime show was primarily made up of themed shows revolving around a marching band. Up With People elevated the themed show to the status of creepy, however, beginning with the 1976 rendition of "200 Years Old and Still a Baby" (does that not give you the willies?) to their final terrible opus 86's "Beat of the Future." With rumors about this troupe being a quasi-religious cult, practicing everything from arranged marriages to right-wing indoctrination, it's a wonder audiences were able to withstand these awful, unsettling performances.
