Bruce Springsteen Plays Surprise Show Saturday Night In Asbury Park

by Annie Rooney · February 28, 2012

Sunday morning's hangover got even worse for many Bruce die-hards once Rolling Stone broke the news (along with many hearts) that The Boss held a surprise show in Monmouth county, NJ. Lucky Asbury scene-sters got to witness the amazing small stage performance with only a few Instagram photos to prove it.

At the newly opened Press Room on Bangs Ave., Springsteen put on a show in support of the family of a friend who passed away earlier in February.

Mr. Springsteen's city of ruins isn't too shabby these days; Porta National Park recently opened and is now receiving hour long lines outside on a Saturday night. Not only are their brick oven pizzas bomb, the line to get in isn't half as bad as you can buy a few Buds and meet some new friends while you wait. Johnny Mac House of Spirits is also a hip place on Main St. in Asbury. Enjoy free pizza every time you buy a beer and try your hand at skeeball in the basement. Don't let the T.G.I. Friday's decor scare you away. The place is fun.
