Star Spangled Banner

8. $25 fine for singers who alter Star-Spangled Banner A senator from Indiana, Vaneta Becker is actively endorsing a bill to fine singers $25 for altering the Star-Spangled Banner at events at public schools and universities. In an interview, Becker spoke about her intentions behind this bill, saying "it’s more that we just want them to respect the words and the tune as it was originally intended and we normally sing it." Christina should probably learn the words now if she doesn't want to get fined. [Rollingstone] [Photo via]
