South by Southwest (Austin, TX): March 13-18

Scene: This 10 day festival in Austin is what would happen if Sundance, Coachella, and Fashion week had a baby and raised it in Williamsburg. Up and coming bands often cut their teeth at this festival before hitting it big. There isn't one central viewing area so you will need to plan as the various concerts, panels, film screenings take place all over.

Go If..: You enjoy discovered new bands, and enjoy being one of those people who loved them "before they went mainstream."
