Last night, young professionals raised over $400,000 at the 5th annual WishNYC: A Toast To Wishes benefit at Marquee in NYC. Proceeds from the evening will help grant wishes for children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. Over 650 guests attended the event, which also featured an after party at The Raven. Guests enjoyed food and drink courtesy of The Patron Spirits Company, Perrier Jouet, Corona, Luke's Lobster, Takumi Taco, Eddie's Pizza Truck, and more. Last night, Corrado Bread & Pastry opened their doors to foodie fans, press and media of their new location on 833 Lexington Avenue. Guests were welcomed in from the cold and greeted with warm Corrado Cappuccinos, a signature staple, along with hot chocolates, lattes and Americanos.
Last night called for a celebration of legends high above the glittering lights of NYC's Columbus Circle and sweeping Central Park. Hosted at the glamorous Mandarin Oriental, the 2014 Pratt Institute Scholarship Gala welcomed countless creatives, creators, and members of the Pratt community for a dinner honoring three legends in the worlds of art and design, and to raise funds for the students of Pratt to hone their crafts and live their dreams. The iconic fashionista Iris Apfel, jewelry designer David Yurman, and #InternetBreaker/PAPER Magazine co-founder Kim Hastreiter all received awards specially-designed by Pratt student Chengtao Yi, sculptures made of glass and metal meant to evoke the movement of nature. While guests enjoyed a delicious dinner consisting of spinach salad, salmon, and "forbidden" rice, presenters Duro Olowu, Padma Lakshmi, and Paul Greenhalgh spoke highly of the night's honorees, sharing praise and anecdotes about each of them. In addition to the awards presentation, the night's highlights included a text-pledge fundraiser, in which screens live-broadcast the donations guests texted in. By the end of the night $60,000 had been raised and inspiration had hit everyone in the room.
Last night, health and wellness aficionados celebrated the re-formulation of VEGA One at the “My Best Day with Vega” event at The Attic Rooftop. At The Attic, which resembled an appropriately-themed greenhouse, the Vega team encouraged guests to experience their best day with with a host of activities: riding a BlenderBike that churned pumpkin pie VEGA One smoothies, body break massages by PRIV, self love photos with Bosco Booth, and healthy “Thriving Cocktails” infused with Vega hydrators that were perfect for winding down. Fitness expert Kim McDevitt led group #vegasquat competitions, while celebrated nutritionist Peggy K talked through the makings of the new VEGA One formula.
