On Friday, Dom Pérignon hosted a fantasy-filled night cabaret at the Walter de Maria Studio, transforming the former Con Edison substation into a "Kingdom" in the East Village, capping off a week of Dom Perignon events unveiling the 2004 Vintage Rose.
The great thing about Brooklyn is that there's space - tons of it. It's a hub for young starving artists to showcase their works, a place where small businesses and boutiques sprout alongside beautiful street graffiti art, and a great borough to explore hand-in-hand with someone you love.
We already know why those of us who are uptowners chose to put down roots north of 59th Street. The refined, old-school establishment that takes form in the UES and UWS simply cannot be found downtown (not to mention that quiet is an actual, livable experience up here). But for all the lovely elements that uptown gives us, from Museum Mile and Central Park to more Sarabeth's and Sant Ambroeuses than actually necessary, there are also certain downsides.
We've seen it all over the spring/summer runways and on the racks of our favorite stores, on bathing suits, purses, shorts, and more, but how exactly do we plan to incorporate #ginghamstyle into our spring and summer wardrobes? Check out these five ways to include the pattern in your everyday looks without looking like a picnic blanket.
Christopher Foundation for the Arts and Galavante (a premiere world luxury travel magazine) partnered for an evening of ART celebrating the creative process. Artists, Elizabeth Christopher and Scott Christopher, presented their works that will travel for a museum exhibition next month. The artwork consists of paintings, sculptures and photographic art. The exhibition preview was held in their ART studio located in Chelsea, New York. The ART reception was co-hosted by film maker and photographic artist, Brook Christopher, who serves as a Director of CFFTA (Christopher Foundation for the Arts) along with Executive Directors, Elizabeth Christopher and Scott Christopher, and Galavante CEO and founder, Christine Drinan. Christopher Foundation for the Arts (CFFTA) is guided by the desire to encourage the individual creative process, through advocating the extraordinary cultural and global benefits of artistic expression. A portion of the evening's art sales were donated to CFFTA (Christopher Foundation for the Arts) to continue the foundation's mission of global goodwill through the ARTS.
“Party girl problem: HOW DO I GO HOME?” This may be the biggest party girl problem in the history of party girl problems. If handled incorrectly, it can cause even more problems! Since this is a loaded question, I’ll to split it up into comprehensive bits so even the hung-over can follow.
It was all magic at midnight last night, as FENDI launched its uber glamorous new capsule collection with French sunglasses designer Thierry Lasry. Lasry co-hosted the event with DJ and fashionista Leigh Lezark, who also worked the turntables with her fellow Misshape Geordon Nicol. For their second gig of the evening (they also spun at the Wildfox presentation downtown), the DJs were impressively on point. Giovanna Battaglia, Laura Love, and the Brant boys also made it out to FENDI's Madison Avenue store for the event, catching a special performance by Jillian Hervey a.k.a. Lion Babe.
