More About Leaders in Environmental Action for the Future (LEAF)-

Provides summer internships for high school students from urban areas (started in NYC, now in 19 states).

By targeting urban youth from populations largely underrepresented in the conservation movement, LEAF trains and develops the next generation of conservation leaders.

Helps educators from environmental high schools share best practices and scientific resources.

College matriculation rates are 45% higher for LEAF alumni than the average at participating schools.

For almost all of the youth participants (93%), LEAF represented the first sustained exposure to nature.
