Brandon Ballengée "Summer of Love 2012, Love Motel for Insects"

Looking for romance on these warm summer nights? Buzz on over to the sculpture garden at Jim Kempner Fine Art Gallery, where artist Brandon Ballengée will be showing off his "Love Motel for Insects" this Thursday night. Shaped like a giant luna moth, this glowing sculpture has attracted art lovers and insects alike, and should make for a memorable evening of bug-watching. The gallery assures us that the sculpture is not designed to attract mosquitoes or ticks, but if you wear repellant, make sure it's non-DEET.

Bug-watching: Thursday, June 21, 9:30-11pm

Dates: June 8 - August 4

Location: Urban Art Projects at Jim Kempner Fine Art, 501 W 23rd St
