Anna Ostoya and Barbara Leoniak, Disclosures

Generating a dialogue between different modes of creative media, Disclosures features a series of paintings and sculptures which serve to distinctly parallel each other while at the same time transcending the inherent differences between art forms. At her second showing at the gallery, Ostoya presents four abstract paintings as well as a text piece, in which she addresses and maps out her intention of challenging the perversions of the art world. Ostoya also invites her former mentor, Krakow-based artist Barbara Leoniak, to show alongside her in the exhibition. Through her sculptures, Leoniak re-imagines the ideas put forth in Ostoya's paintings and channels them into the third dimension, primarily using strips of cardboard dipped in resin.
