Beauty With A Dash Of David Bowie At Daniella Kallmeyer Fall/Winter Show

by Daniel Reynolds · February 13, 2012

Last night, hundreds of guests lined up outside the Highline Loft for fashion darling Daniella Kallmeyer’s Fall/Winter 2012 show, some enduring the cold for up to twenty minutes while waiting for the single elevator to clear the lobby.

“Don’t worry, it’s well worth the wait,” quipped investor Fritz Lanman, and he was right. Upstairs, a table of lemonade spiked with Bulldog gin awaited patient fashionistas, and of course, a fabulous show, which was repeated three times to ensure those waiting outside could see Kallmeyer’s collection in motion.

Rorhshach prints featured prominently on the svelte models, who teetered down the catwalk, a few losing their balance along the way. The clothing, constructed from such diverse materials as wool, fox fur, silk, and vinyl, evoked David Bowie to the delight of the crowd, who were able to inspect the wears up close and personal after the show, while the models posed along the runway like mannequins.
