"Best 2K I Ever Spent!" Make Love AND War At Public Assembly

by SUSANNAH LONG · June 14, 2010

Electro Wars took over Public Assembly, and the partyers who showed up to hear MAINO, Radical Outing, Ace the Pyro, DJ Steve Knieves, DJ SAV and others were, appropriately enough, a dramatic blend of love and war, heaving bosoms and clenched fists, rom-coms and battle flicks.

Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion. Not pictured: Alan Cumming, the love interest.

Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers. Crud, we just remembered two of the characters in that are siblings. Okay. This is some Japanese schoolgirl anime good vs. evil flick then. GROSSNESS AVERTED.

Showgirls. We guess. Demi falls in love with some guy in that. The butt is making it hard to concentrate.

Shakespeare's Henry V. Henry just shrieked "Once more unto the breach!" They're all psyched to get those Frenchies but good.

Born Yesterday. Or Working Girl. Or Christina Aguilera's future film debut.

Saving Private Ryan. Guess which one's Private Ryan.

    Save the Last Dance.

Any war movie ever made, because they're all just buddy movies with explosions. Wait, is that . . . . dammit, the butt is totally bogarting all the background space. Butt, this is some Band of Brothers quality bonding, and you're just getting in the way.

    Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Flailing limbs, crash-prone design . . . pretty sure we're looking at helicopters out of Apocalypse Now.

    Wimbledon.

OH EM GEE IF YOU DON'T STOP WE WILL GO ALL BRAVEHEART ON YOUR ASS AND THEN WE'LL SEE WHO WANTS TO KEEP GETTING IN ALL THE PICTURES.

Aw. 500 Days of Summer. Because they're hipsters, and she's going to break his heart.
