Vintage clothing is the style of choice in Brooklyn (read: hipsters), so when in Rome, right? Two killer vintage stores are Beacon's Closet and Buffalo Exchange:
Beacon's Closet is what is says it is - a huge warehouse full of previously worn clothing, hence a closet. This place can be awesome for all those one-of-a-kind finds or, if you are a struggling young person, you can sell your clothes to BC and make a couple of bucks. Be wary, however, this place can extremely overwhelming with the amount of clothing you sift through to find something good. It's a fun challenge and super cheap.

Buffalo Exchange is like a more refined version of Beacon's Closet. They sell both new and used clothing and have a better curated shop. It's a bit more pricey (but definitely not expensive), but you will have an easier time finding those awesome vintage picks.
