The Stephen Siller Children’s Foundation launches its first annual Gala fundraiser to be held at Cipriani Wall Street. Former Mayor of New York City, Rudolph Giuliani will serve as Honoree Chair, and Actor, John Turturro will serve as Honorary Hero.
The black-tie event at Cipriani Wall Street will include a cocktail hour, live entertainment, sit-down dinner, and live and silent auctions. It will last from 6PM — 11 PM. Known for their Tunnel to Towers Run attended by 30,000 people annually, the Foundation was created in honor of fallen New York Fire Fighter, Stephen Siller, who dedicated his life to helping those in need. The guiding principle that shapes this monumental event is that every child matters and no child’s need is too small to benefit from the grace and power of caring.
“We are so excited for the Gala, as it’s a continuation of the current of goodness that Stephen’s life and death set into motion,” says Frank Siller, brother of Stephen. “Our family is particularly grateful to Mayor Giuliani and John Turturro for their support and dedication to this cause.”
Stephen’s legacy functions as the clearest reminder that giving is vital to our communities and especially children. Proceeds from the Gala fundraiser will go to sponsoring educational scholarships for children who have lost one or both parents in the line of duty by providing the Freedom Alliance Scholarship as well as counseling, financial support and other related activities in an effort to bring hope and healing to children who are abandoned, abused and orphaned. The core belief of the Foundation is that every time we change a child’s life for the better, we change the future. One child at a time, we can make the world a better place.
