Marco Benevento made his first “claim to fame” playing Hammond B-3 organ and Wurlitzer in The Benevento-Russo Duo. Now, he shifts the focus to acoustic piano with his own trio. His latest album, Me Not Me, features innovative interpretations of songs by artists including My Morning Jacket, Leonard Cohen and Deerhoof. Throughout the recording, he re-imagines the instrument by running it through pickups, delay and distortion pedals and a Fender Super Reverb Amp. With indie-folk musician Nathan Moore, who has been compared to the likes of Dylan, Waits, Prine, and Cohen, but never without an impressed nod to his uniqueness.
