In honor of their 50th Anniversaries, the Guggenheim Museum and Four Seasons Restaurant will hold a celebration dinner for supporters and friends on Wednesday, July 15 at the Four Seasons Restaurant, 99 E 52nd Street (between Park and Lexington Avenues). Cocktails begin at 7:00 PM followed by dinner.
One of the highlights of the night will include a conversation between Richard Armstrong, Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and Museum; architecture critic and author Martin Filler; and Phyllis Lambert, architect and historic preservationist who was influential in choosing Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to design the Seagram Building. The discussion will address the accomplishments of both Frank Lloyd Wright, architect of the Guggenheim, and Philip Johnson, designer of the Four Seasons, and the importance of each man’s legacy to the landscape of New York City.
