Smokey Robinson will play a free concert Sept. 12 in Brooklyn’s Cadman Plaza as part of the A&E-sponsored Recovery Rally to “raise awareness that addiction is a treatable disease and recovery is possible.”
The event will start at 8:30 a.m. with a rally led by Jane Velez-Mitchell in Manhattan’s Foley Square followed by a march across the Brooklyn Bridge. At the noon concert, Robinson will sing classic hits as well as songs from his new release, “Time Flies When You’re Having Fun,” according to event organizers.
