Description
The holidays are finally over and a new year (and decade!) are upon us. If your 2010 resolution was to drink more at parties, then we have just the event for you! "2010: A Space Odyssey" predicted that this would be "the year we make contact," but we'll bet they never guessed that it would be via Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. Join your favorite glittering, self-obliterating literati at Destination Bar for a special Social Media Week edition of Obliterati, brought to you by Citysearch and RandomNightOut. We'll be bringing you a 90-minute OPEN BAR as well as GIFT BAGS filled with swag! We'll also be celebrating the launch of an exciting new Citysearch program. Here's the gist of it: Citysearch New York is looking for people who love going out in the city and want the chance to win cool stuff just for writing user reviews and lists on the site for the places they're already going to. Everyone is eligible and everyone who participates will rack up rewards (think free meals, booze, iPods, concert tickets, entry to exclusive events, etc). Participants will be known as CITYSEARCH DICTATORS: Trusted, local experts who are differentiated from other users. In addition to the free stuff, if we like what you write, your reviews and lists may be featured on the Citysearch homepage and across the site. We'll also be selecting some Dictators to join our editorial team as paid freelance writers. For more info, email senior editor Justine Goodmanat Justine.Goodman@citysearch.com. As most of you who have come to previous events know, we have outgrown the rather small capacity at Destination. We are happy to announce that the NEW LOCATION for the event is going to be "R BAR" located at 218 Bowery (btwn. Prince & Spring) http://www.rbarnyc.com We are also happy to welcome the collaboration with both Thrillist and Digital Somethings! Digital Somethings is a group of networking events, conferences, and mixers for friends and professionals in all industries, including technology, advertising, marketing, media and non-profits. It was founded in 2009 by David Weiner, Damien Basile, Brett Petersel, and Khayyam Wakil as a Global Events Organizations designed to feature organizations working in the digital space and allow influencers from across industries to network and have fun! Thrillist will be raffling some awesome giveaways as well as providing a red carpet step and repeat, so great ready to have your photo taken! If you hadn't gotten your fill of photos from Thrillist's step & repeat, then stop by Diana Levine's awesome photo booth set up, and get your photo taken by one of the best photographers I know!
