First Annual NYC Friendship Walk (Pets Welcome!)

The NYC Friendship Walk Event Chair, Jackie Wong, encourages students, families, friends and coworkers to form teams stating ’the 2010 Best Buddies Friendship Walk is a fun, community walk that will commence in Washington Square Park and conclude at NYU’s Coles Sports Center with activities, entertainment, and team and fundraising awards.’ Businesses and organizations also have the opportunity to participate as sponsors or by forming their own teams. Ms. Wong went on to say that ’the Friendship Walk will help Best Buddies New York to continue its inspiring work of providing friendship and leadership development opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Through its work, Best Buddies is moving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from desolation and isolation to a new acceptance in their families and communities.’ The event begins with check-in at 9:30am in Washington Square Park.
