A lecture by Tariq Ali
During his presidential campaign, President Obama pledged more troops, ground intrusions and drone attacks to end the war in Afghanistan. This is a promise he has kept, but it won’t work. Tariq Ali will be talking about why the war is unwinnable and can only lead to a bloody stalemate.
Tariq Ali is the author of more than two dozen books about world history and politics, including The Duel: Pakistan on the Flight Path of American Power and The Protocols of the Elders of Sodom.
