With the closing of The Slipper Room, NYC's revered cabaret returns in a new space for a limited engagement.
When times are tough, courtesans have always not only survived but THRIVED. An early inspiration to Pablo Picasso, a bankroll for David LaChappelle and a devastating scandal for Eliot Spitzer, the performance collective will demonstrate acts revolving around prostitution and those who have notoriously honored, immortalized and patronized it. The show's unique concept - derived from an artist's desperation in a failing economy - portrays acts spotlighting Parisian courtesans, call girls, scandal and the interesting history of prostitution in New York City: According to statistics, in the 19th century 75% of men in the Big Apple had some type of STD. Wild!
